Escape to Happiness

The Escape to Happiness project is the first EU project of our organization, Pro Lapinlahti Mental Health Association (Pro Lapinlahti mielenterveysseura ry). Our organization works to improve adult’s mental well-being and since learning new things can have such a profound impact on individual well-being, we were happy to be invited to be a partner in this Escape to Happiness project. Adult education can be a life-changing pathway to rediscovering joy and meaning in one’s life, so we were eager to learn new ways to improve our methods. Next, I will tell our experiences in the project; what has been surprising, what has been challenging, what we have learned, and what has been the benefits of the project (so far).
• Purpose:
The “Escape to Happiness” project is dedicated to enhancing adult education programs by promoting happiness as a key outcome for participants and educators.
• Key Objectives:
• Provide training for adult educators to foster happiness in their participants.
• Equip educators with the tools, knowledge, and materials needed to develop happiness.
• Create a supportive e-learning system with small, engaging learning units.
• Develop an innovative escape room tool to inspire happiness in adult learners.
• Planned Activities:
• Develop a competency matrix for adult educators.
• Create training content and online educational resources (OER).
• Design an interactive escape room tool focused on the theme of happiness.
• Publish a good practices booklet to guide educators.
• Expected Effects:
• Increased satisfaction and motivation for participants in adult education programs.
• Improved training for educators to focus on the development of happiness.
• Greater impact of educational programs and organizations.
• Impact and Results:
• Best Practices Guidelines: A resource for educators to adopt effective strategies for fostering happiness.
• Trainer Training Program: A program designed to train adult educators.
• E-learning System: A user-friendly platform offering accessible training materials.
• Escape Room Tool: A creative and engaging approach to learning about happiness.
